Rooted in Regeneration: How Alexandre Family Farm Is Leading the Future of Dairy

Written by George Goodwin

In our latest episode of the GroceryPulse Podcast, I had the honor of speaking with Blake and Stephanie Alexandre of Alexander Family Farm, the first certified regenerative dairy farm in the U.S. These two are not only pioneers in sustainable agriculture, but they’ve also been married—and running a business together—for over 40 years. Yes, you read that right!

Their journey is a powerful example of what it looks like to stay rooted in shared values, whether in marriage, farming, or building a mission-driven brand.

A Partnership Built on Purpose

When I asked Blake and Stephanie the secret to being partners in both life and business, their answer was refreshingly honest: “We just decided divorce wasn’t an option.” With that kind of commitment, they’ve learned how to work through challenges and play to each other’s strengths.

Stephanie shared how their shared love of agriculture, cows, and hard work has helped them build a rock-solid partnership. Blake leads the charge, and Stephanie brings a different set of strengths to the table. “Where I excel, he might not—and where he excels, I certainly don’t,” she said. “We’re a great team.”

From Grassroots to Groundbreaking

Alexander Family Farm didn’t start with awards and certifications. It began with a passion for doing things differently—better. Their focus has always been on healthy soil, healthy animals, and ultimately, healthy people. That vision led them to regenerative dairy farming long before it became a buzzword.

They’re now proud to be the first certified regenerative dairy farm in the country, and their practices go far beyond “organic.” They’re working with nature—rotating their cows across lush pastures, sequestering carbon in the soil, and building a model that supports both environmental and human health.

What Makes Alexander Family Farm Different?

Let’s talk about A2 milk—a product that’s getting a lot of love from health-conscious families (like my own). A2 milk is different from conventional dairy because it contains only the A2 beta-casein protein, which some studies suggest is easier to digest.

Blake and Stephanie were early adopters of A2 milk, and now it’s one of their most popular offerings. Their whole milk is not only organic, but it's packed with the full nutritional profile nature intended—healthy fats, proteins, and minerals that support growing kids and active adults alike.

And the best part? It tastes like real milk should.

Regenerative Dairy Farming: Why It Matters

At a time when many farms are chasing short-term yields, Alexander Family Farm is in it for the long haul. Their regenerative practices aren’t just about sustainability—they’re about regeneration: healing the land, protecting biodiversity, and producing truly nourishing food.

Their cows graze on rotating pastures, which naturally build healthier soil and reduce emissions. Their commitment to animal welfare, soil health, and transparency sets a high bar for the dairy industry, and consumers are responding. Nationwide dairy sales are up, and it's clear that more people are looking for nutritious, responsibly produced options.

Looking Ahead

When I asked what’s next for the Alexandres, it was clear they’re not slowing down. They’re committed to growing their reach while staying true to their roots. For them, it’s not just about being the biggest—it’s about being the best stewards of the land and leaders in their field.

Whether it’s expanding into new markets or continuing to innovate in regenerative dairy, the future of Alexander Family Farm looks bright—and deeply grounded.
